It was during our 2 years stay there in 1983-85 did we experience that sound of the vendor's beautiful voice crying out loud his Yakiimo. So nostalgic! What an unforgettable episode in our lives.
dannyemmymallarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16225946366538124629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217850911321509204.post-78839832646568634582019-09-03T06:29:42.055-07:002019-09-03T06:29:42.055-07:00porntube
porntubeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217850911321509204.post-5157819266853050112009-10-21T00:19:18.056-07:002009-10-21T00:19:18.056-07:00I hate Sweet Potatoes - yet Yakimo and the Yakimo ...I hate Sweet Potatoes - yet Yakimo and the Yakimo van are the most wonderful thing ever!

Without this site, I'd have no idea.

NOM.AJWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00489889449650831420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217850911321509204.post-8480331164908124392007-11-27T14:56:00.000-08:002007-11-27T14:56:00.000-08:00My wife and I saw this truck in the Ginza district...My wife and I saw this truck in the Ginza district of Tokyo on our honeymoon 2 weeks ago. We were obsessed with it, we had no idea he was selling food we just thought it was awesome! We couldn't figure out what he was doing or what the Yakimo song was all about, but to a foreigner, this was some photo worthy stuff. We even got a recording of his song so we won't forget it!

-ClayUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398479614657496079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217850911321509204.post-77620028485544428492006-12-11T19:34:00.000-08:002006-12-11T19:34:00.000-08:00Tom,

In my childhood we had a number of such vendors singing out their wares, which drew members of the families to the street to take advantage. We had a huckster, who drove a special open bodied station wagon in which he displayed fresh farm produce. One fellow only came two or three times a year, selling "Clooooooos. . . props!" He made his own wooden poles to prop up clothes lines on which we dried our laundry. Today the only remnant is the jangling of the Mr. Softee ice cream truck. I guess we're too insulated in our air conditioning and televisions to enjoy these homey pleasures.

Our loss.

Love, DadGeorge J.
